Swedish brand Acne Studios presented its Fall/Winter 2023 collection during Paris Fashion Week. The show took place at Lycée Carnot and was full of mysticism and futurism. Here are all the details you need to know.

The designs

The designs seem to feature the different faces of fall and winter in Sweden. Darker earth tones and asymmetry dominate the futuristic collection. Flowers, plants, and tree bark inspired the textures and details of the garments.

Cropped tops, lace-up sandals, and an abundance of leaf and flora motives make you feel like part of a divine forest. The collection emphasizes layering and long, floor-sweeping coats in earthy brown tones that evoke the forest.

The garments have a draped style that resembles vines on a tree, with long sleeves and torn strips of fabric that accentuate the model’s movement, like leaves fluttering in the wind. The draped look is contrasted with boxy, oversized shapes.

Why is Acne Studios #konshas?

Acne Studios is a Swedish fashion brand founded in Stockholm in 1996 by Jonny Johansson. The brand originally started as a denim label, but has since expanded to offer a full range of clothes and accessories for men and women.

Acne Studios is known for its minimalist and contemporary designs, with a focus on high-quality fabrics and attention to detail. The brand’s aesthetic is often described as clean, understated, and modern, with a touch of Scandinavian simplicity.

Acne Studios has made a commitment to sustainability, and has implemented several initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. To begin with, it has set a goal to become climate positive by 2030.

Additionally, the brand has developed its own sustainable denim fabric called “River” and made from organic and recycled materials. Acne Studios has also introduced other sustainable fabrics such as Econyl, a regenerated nylon made from fishing nets and other waste materials.

The brand has also implemented a “no-waste” approach to cutting fabric, where scraps and offcuts are reused or recycled. It offers a repair service for its products, encouraging customers to extend the lifespan of their garments.

Acne Studios is also committed to ethical production practices and transparency. It has implemented a code of conduct for all its suppliers that includes standards for fair labor practices and environmental responsibility.

Overall, while there is always room for improvement, Acne Studios has taken significant steps towards sustainability and continues to work towards reducing its environmental impact.
